Obama: I was elected to end war, not to start them?

Well, in my opinion, war is supposed to be stopped if there is no need to be started. From past centuries till now, world war one till the latest possible to-be-started war between United Nation and Syria government, there are still many controversies on war. Should Obama start a war with Syria government? Should the United Nation intervene in Syria civil war? Should the United Nation ever have intervened with any countries’ conflicts? Let me explain what has been going on in Syria.

The Syrian civil war, also known as the Syrian uprising is an ongoing armed conflict in Syria between forces loyal to the Ba'ath government and those seeking to oust it. The conflict began in 2011. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, whose family has held the presidency in Syria since 1971, as well as the end of Ba'ath Party rule, which began in 1963. In April 2011, the Syrian Army was deployed to quell the uprising, and soldiers fired on demonstrators across the country. After months of military sieges, the protests evolved into an armed rebellion. Opposition forces, mainly composed of defected soldiers and civilian volunteers, resisted without central leadership. The weapons of Syrian government are further upheld by military support from Russia and Iran. By July 2013, the Syrian government controls approximately 30–40 percent of the country's territory and 60 percent of the Syrian population. In June 2013, the death toll surpassed 100,000 according to the United Nations. In addition, tens of thousands of protesters have been imprisoned and there are reports of widespread torture and terror in state prisons. International organizations have accused both government and opposition forces of severe human rights violations. UN inspections and probes in Syria have determined that the Syrian government's abuses are highest in frequency and largest in scale. Chemical weapons have been used in Syria on more than one occasion.

Over the past two years, what began as a series of peaceful protests against the repressive regime of Bashar al-Assad has turned into a civil war in Syria. In that time, people have worked to provide humanitarian support for the Syrian people, to help the moderate opposition within Syria, and to shape a political settlement but the resisted calls for military action which because civil war cannot be resolved through force. Situation changed on August 21, when more than 1,000 Syrians - including hundreds of children - were killed by chemical weapons launched by the Assad government. What happened to those people is not only a violation of international law but also a danger to the security. As the ban against these deadly weapons erodes, other tyrants and authoritarian regimes will have no reason to think twice about acquiring poison gases and using them. Over time, their troops could face the prospect of chemical warfare on the battlefield. It could be easier for terrorist organizations to obtain these weapons and use them to attack civilians. It is a very dilemma decision while it is harm to innocent residents including the army. If fighting spills beyond Syria's borders, these weapons could threaten their allies in the region. It is in the national security interests of the United States to respond to the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons through a targeted military strike. The purpose of this strike would be to deter Assad from using chemical weapons, to degrade his regime's ability to use them, and make clear to the world that the world will not tolerate their use. The Russian government has indicated a willingness to join with the international community in pushing Assad to give up his chemical weapons and the Assad regime has now admitted that it has these weapons, and even said they'd join the Chemical Weapons Convention, which prohibits their use. It's too early to tell whether this offer will succeed, and any agreement must verify that the Assad regime keeps its commitments. The Russian government will standby with Syria government if UN insists to start the intervention. It is because Russian government has been the main weapon supplier of Syria government which they will no longer have Syria government this main market. Another point being they have been in a close relationship ever since a century ago and started to bring in weapons. Obama works with France and the United Kingdom to put forward a resolution at the U.N. Security Council requiring Assad to give up his chemical weapons, and to ultimately destroy them under international control.  Meanwhile, he is ordered our military to maintain their current posture to keep the pressure on Assad, and to be in a position to respond if diplomacy fails. If Assad agrees with that, he will lose his power and the protestor will create a new generation. We know that Assad will never give up his power in this country.

So why not start a war? To stop this civil war. For god sake it is for the residents own good. Indeed people will die, for a better future. Even though war in its pure form is a crime, the use of chemical weapons that occurred a few days back violated the CWC which prohibits the use, the creation and therefore stockpiling of chemical weapons. Although US military is already sick of war, even the people, the family and friends of the army. But there is not only about the US, not the UK and no one should intervene except of the UN. If they vote to involve in this war, there is no choice but to step in. Too many people die in Iraq war which I understand how the army or the US residents feel. There is a Islamic word calls jehad. Mostly with diplomatic way, but if diplomacy fails then military actions should take place. When people are dying, then it is important that UN step in and take care of it and this is why the UN was made, to promote world peace and end conflict.  Governments around the world are just standing by as innocent people are getting attacked and killed, just because they want a liberal democracy. The UN should intervene when necessary, and now is the time to do so. Or Syria will tear itself apart. It is also a moral obligation to do so when thousands of innocent civilians are being slaughtered. This terrorist activity must to be stop before anything worse happen. I stand by UN. Unless both government hand in chemical weapon, or else this fight will not stop.

Ethic blog 1---- Abortion

Ethics, in my opinion, is very critical which can decide right and wrong. However, some situations cannot simply defined into these two categories. For example, abortion. Nowadays, there are more and more unmarried female teenagers that have no choice but to get abortion. It is because of unsafe sex before marriage which is not encouraged. These teenage girls who under the pressure of discrimination of unequal treat have also no financial support. Some of them even criticized by their friends and family. Therefor, most of them choose to save their image and repair their relationship with people instead of keeping the infant. There are also some people that choose to give birth to the baby because this is more ethical- which most people think- and right way to do so. There comes with a dilemma of abortion ethical issue.

On the early aspect of religion, abortion is totally an unethical and sinful option because every infant is gift of god, a very pure and precious life. It is no difference with killing a human-being which life cannot be taken by anyone. In this new era, there are some different view on different religion. For example, Buddhist believe that abortion is acceptable if the life of mother is being threatened and modern Christian oppose deliberate abortion as immoral, which abortion should be approved or disapproved according to each circumstance. But some protestants who oppose abortion sometimes portray themselves as the only true Christians. There is a saying that the person who had an abortion will be sent to hell after lifetime, for those who are having strong religious believe.

Raping case in some places which is the most common case in India has caused many innocent females' pregnancy. As reports show that India has a really serious sexual violence problem. How could they raise a child when their spirit are ruined as well as mind? As long as the fetus is not grown more than three months, I am fully support with the abortion of these girls. They have no need to keep the infant. Study shows that there were 10,000 rape-caused pregnancies in the United States every year. Besides of rape-caused pregnancies, there is also incest-caused pregnancies. Abortion for incest is the despicable twin of abortion for rape. Pro-abortionists believe that a woman or girl can "erase" the child conceived of incest just as easily as she can "erase" a child of rape. Raping is never an ethical action but a forcible sex for innocent women who also do not expect for pregnancy so abortion is not unethical but a better choice.

Prostitution also causes unwanted pregnancy and miscarriage. Over two-thirds of the women in the Minneapolis/St. Paul study had an average of three pregnancies during their time in prostitution as study showed which they will perform abortion as well. But most prostitutes cannot afford to do it and they perform themselves which the fetus can be found in toilet and rubbish bin. It is a very unethical action in my opinion because fetus have to be buried well instead of simply be thrown. Also, health of the women will be affected because it is unhygienic when it is not performing under professional operation.

Besides that, there are also some cases such as abnormal infants. It is about the choice between late-term abortion and keeping an unhealthy foetus. Most pregnant women will choose to have an abortion although it is a very painful decision as this is what normally a doctor suggest. But there are also some exception which parents hope to continue pregnancy. Nick Vujicic, the famous motivational speaker in the world that without all four limbs, has now brought attention to the world to motivate and fight for the right of deformity. It also brings hope to parents who are having abnormal fetus and continue pregnancy instead of abortion. In my opinion, it is more suitable to terminate the pregnancy because deformity will be having difficulty in life especially in this competitive world as there is still no equal right for deformity now. Nick Vujicic is a very strong-faith, tough and optimistic person that success in what he is doing. This is a very rare case in reality. I do no think a man without arms and legs can actually survive in this world unless he has the same characteristic with Nick Vujucic. If I were facing this problem, I will choose to have abortion as well. I do not want my child suffer as it is also not fair for him.

I also think that, for any reason, the right of decision making should be fully taken by the mother. If they are not ready to be a mother and do not want to have a child, there is no reason to stop them from abortion because it is about the responsibility. No child should be raised up in an environment with no love. It is equal to destroy a person's life which is an indirect unethical action. So why would it make any difference with taken the life of the fetus at first? Therefore, everyone who does not want to have child should have a safe sex with right protection to avoid pregnancy and abortion. There is a term saying that "with great power comes great responsibility" which is suitable for every mother. I think every woman has a special power once she became a mother when raising a child is not an easy mission. As people said that mother and child have an unbroken connection so I will recommend woman who perform abortion pray for the unborn baby. It is to reduce the sin that stop a life and also to console own self. Abortion will always be the last choice if the infants are given good enough condition to be born. As we can see in undeveloped countries, there are people with no sex education, sex protection knowledge and advanced medical technology so that they force to give birth to baby even it is not their intention. It cause another serious problem which is great number of child death. In conclusion, if you choose not to have abortion, take the responsibility and love your child.
